Another walk this morning along the coast, wind behind me for the outward journey and what looked like it might be a colourful sunrise. As it turned out there was a bit of colour but not what I had hoped for. I could hear the sea thundering in against the hard rocks and the cliff tops were peppered all over with white splashes of sea foam, whipped up by the crashing waves and then lofted on the cliff tops by the wind, quite spectacular and in some way made up for the lack of colour in the sunrise.
Once I had hit the beach it was pleasing to see the virgin sands in front of me, smoothed perfectly by the ebbing sea, it felt a real privilege to be the first to walk on them, leaving just my footprints in the sand dotted with trusty Molly's paw prints too.
Hitting the halfway point at the pier wall and turning for the homeward journey, the wind was full force in my face and pressing my jacket back against my chest, I took the opportunity to keep looking at the sand and picking out sea-glass for my daughter as I pressed on, this concentration helped pass the time on the walk back along the beach before harbouring in the quarry to get my breath back. Then, up the steep hill onto the cliff tops for the final hurdle back along the cliffs, bracing to say the least, refreshing to be kind, either way enjoyable and for a good cause.
